Barbara King is a lecturer in Languages Education at the University of Reading, Institute of Education. She teaches on a number of initial teacher education programmes, including primary and secondary PGCE, and is a dissertation supervisor on a number of Masters programmes. Before taking up this post she taught languages for twenty years in primary and secondary schools in both the state and independent sectors. She has an MA in Applied Linguistics and has also worked for the Routes into Languages initiative. Her research interests are in the field of Second Language Acquisition, particularly Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).
